Robin G. Sawyer, PhD;
Paul J. Pinciaro, PhD

Objective: To survey university students' knowledge toward Norplant and Depo Provera. Methods: Snowball sampling resulted in a final sample of 965 university students. Results: Students demonstrated low levels of knowledge about Norplant and Depo Provera, with higher levels of knowledge being predictive of positive attitudes toward and greater likelihood of future use of both methods of contraception. Source of contraception information was significantly associated with knowledge scores. Conclusion: There is a clear need for increased dissemination of accurate information through reliable sources, particularly concerning Depo Provera.
