Cardiorespiratory Resuscitation Training Among Individuals Aged 60 and Above

Objective: To identify determinants for participation and to assess which factors most significantly influenced intention to participate in CPR classes among individuals aged 60 and older. Methods: 210 older adults in Tarrant County, Texas responded to a self-administered questionnaire designed to determine their willingness to participate in CPR training. Results: A relationship was found between behavioral intention and employment status, age, desire for CPR on self, and desire for CPR on others. Conclusion: Older Americans are willing to undego CPR training, but encounter a number of barriers that prevent them from taking CPR classes.
